Lagoon 2012

We have taken Kallen to Lagoon since Summer 2010.  I guess I never did a blog post of last Summer's visit but I know we went because of the rides we remembered this year from last year.

We love going on a Sunday in September because we can pretty much just get on every ride without waiting in line. I don't think we ever had to wait more than one turn for any ride, so we would either walk right on, or wait for the ride to stop and then be in the next group.  Since we had a backpack and a purse we would generally take turns going on the rides with Kallen.  Kallen would go with one of us while the other waited and then Kallen would go a second time on the ride so he got to ride most of the big rides twice and mommy and daddy got a break and could take pictures.

This is Ody-Sea, one of my favorites, you get a little wet but it usually feels good.

Luckily Kallen still likes the kiddie rides (see later pictures for the pictures of him on the big roller coasters).  It would have been a long day if he wasn't interested in the kiddie rides, but luckily he can go on these by himself so we can just watch and recuperate from the big rides.  Neither Johnny nor I can handle the spinning rides any more.  Luckily on some of the rides we didn't want to go on (Tilt-A-Whirl, Rock-O-Plane, Air Race, and any other ride that just spins) we just told Kallen he wasn't tall enough and that sufficed.

He loves bumper cars.  Got to go twice, once with Johnny and once with me.
Another ride he got to go twice on and wanted more, but we were already soaked.

This was his second time on Rattle Snake Rapids.  It was our last ride of the day and we had all gone on it together.  I was already completely soaked so I went on it again with him.  Luckily we all had a change of clothes in the car for this exact reason.

We got to Lagoon right when it opened and walked to the big roller coasters first before they got too crowded, great idea because we just walked right on to all of the big coasters and after one or two times on each of them we were done.

This is Wicked!  The first picture you see is actually Johnny and Kallen in the car.  I took the picture not knowing when they were going to be going, but during the ride I could hear Johnny screaming so I knew it was there car.  O.K., he wasn't screaming out of fear he was just screaming out of excitement like he does all the rides with Kallen.  This ride was pretty cool.  It actually freaked me out a little bit and Kallen loved it, so much he went on it twice.  I almost wanted to go on this ride at the end of the day but being all wet decided to not do it.

You go straight up and then straight down.

and upside down!
I went on The Spider with Kallen.  It was a little too spinny for me so this was my last big ride for awhile.

This was the first Wild Mouse.  This was the first ride Kallen and Johnny went on.  I didn't go on this one because when you go around the corners it feels like you are going to fall off the edge.

The big swings.

State Fair

Ever since Kallen was born we have always taken him to the State Fair.  This year we actually spent much more time on all the rides rather than looking at the animals and walking around.  The child has no fear.

Here he is at "The Farm".  They have a great activity for kids to go on the farm, they get to gather eggs, milk a cow, plan vegetables, harvest vegetables, get sheep's wool, put gas in a tractor, and then sell all their goods at the store for one dollar which then they get to go to the store to buy a treat.  Kallen chose some fruit snacks.

The giant yellow slide!  This is probably the third, maybe second year he has gone down the slide.  He went down twice with me (no with me but next to me) and once with Dad.  Then he went down again by himself at the end of night before we left.

Going on a surfing ride.

We got him an all ride bracelet and then just bought some tickets for us on some of the ones we needed to go on with him, but he definitely got his money's worth going on all the smaller rides by himself.

On a big ride with Dad!

Another big ride with Dad.  This would be the ride that takes you high in the air and then drops you with no notice.  Kallen loved it.

Yoga

Two nights in a row Kallen got his yoga mat out to do Yoga on TV.  It has been a long time since we have last done Yoga but on his own he wanted to do it.  Comcast has about 9 minutes of kid yoga on OnDemand.  He is pretty good at following along.  Here are some pictures of him doing an Ocean lesson (sharks, sea stars, swimming in the ocean) and a Space lesson (rocket ship, star, crescent moon).
