Oregon Trip July 2011

We drove to Oregon at the end of July to spend a week. We drove so that Hobie could go with us because he has so much fun on the farm. So does Kallen! Each morning they would go for a walk with Grandma. Here are a couple pictures playing in the creek and walking through the bean fields. Kallen loved playing with his cousins, riding four wheelers, feeding the chickens, and picking raspberries from the garden.

Grandma and Grandpa turned a pasture behind the house that they no longer use for animals into a play area. It was perfect for t-ball. I took the picture of Kallen but the pictures of all the adults Kallen took himself.

We all went to the Oregon Zoo one afternoon after a yummy family breakfast at my brother's house. Here are some pictures from the zoo! They had a dinosaur exhibit that Kallen of course loved. It was the same exhibit they had last year but last year we didn't pay to go through it. This year there would have been no way not to do it as Kallen is all about dinosaurs.

This is a picture that Kallen took of me tickling the tiger cub's belly. He is really into taking pictures and for a 3 year old isn't too bad.

Kallen is also into posing for a lot pictures. He always says, "Mommy you take a picture of me."

Our other big outing was to Enchanted Forrest which is a small amusement park. They have a few rides but it is mostly a place where you walk through and it has things related to different storybooks.

Here is a picture of Kallen on one of his favorite type of rides.

San Diego Summer 2011

We were in San Diego for a week visiting Kallen's Abai and Babba (Grandma and Grandpa). Our big adventure was Legoland. They have an amusement park perfect for Kallen's age of kids. They also have a water park which we had a blast at and also an aquarium. We had a 5 day pass (purchased at the rate of a 3 day pass) and visited the park 3 different days. See the pictures from the Amusement park below! I don't think we have any pictures of Bob the Builder but he was spotted around the park a few times so I thought the song was appropriate.

Here are some pictures from the Water park. We couldn't have asked for a better day. We did a few rides before we hit the water park. Played at the water park, Kallen took a nap with daddy in the lounge chair in the shade after lunch, played some more, and then went on a few more rides in the Amusement park. It was a fun filled day. Here are some pictures from the water park.

Our last trip to Legoland was the aquarium. It was a decent aquarium and Kallen had fun going through it. We found Spongebob at the very end right before we entered the gift shop. Spongebob is one of Kallen's favorite characters so he was very excited.
He was also very excited to see the shark. He was looking for sharks in every area of the aquarium.

We of course spent a couple days at the beach. Kallen loved playing in the water. He had no fear as long as he was hanging on to our hands. He was also occupied by a large hole that some other people had dug. I don't have any pictures of us playing in the big hole but it kept us busy for quite awhile.

After the beach we of course had ice cream at the boardwalk. After ice cream Kallen wanted to go on a couple of rides. Here he is driving a boat.
He also wanted to go on this ride. He loved a ride similar to this at Lagoon last Summer though one of us were on the ride with him. This time he did this ride all by himself. It takes him high in the air and then drops him and repeats that several times. Kallen had a blast.

One evening we went downtown to Seaport Village. We of course did the carousel ride and of course had ice cream. Our normal visit to seaport village. Kallen also got to look at some big birds and even had one sit on his shoulder which he wasn't afraid of as well.

One afternoon we went to Balboa park and walked around. Kallen was drawn to the fountain. On our way back by the fountain there were other people in the fountain so we let him go in it.

Family time!

The little traveler with daddy. We had a plane change in Vegas which meant two take offs and two landings which mean being seated with the seat belt on and no electronic devices. Kallen did great though and loved the take off and going really, really fast. I guess the 11 plane trips before he turned 2 (while he could still fly for free) helped.
