Oregon Trip

Here is Kallen meeting Baby Jessica (Baby Jessie) for the first time. I had been showing him pictures so he knew who she was and was excited to see her. Can't wait until next Summer when she will be one and they can play a little bit together.

Trip to the Oregon Zoo. This Zoo had a lot more animals than our little zoo in Salt Lake. Kallen did great at the zoo and we had a great time. He is usually not a poser for pictures because he doesn't like to sit still but maybe since we were at the end of the zoo and he was tired he decided to sit on these rocks and pose for pictures.

Here we are on a train ride at the zoo.

Here are a few pictures from a hike to Marion Lake. I met one of my best friends from high school to catch up and see this beautiful scenery.

Kallen really loved to swing. He spent at least 20 minutes on 2 separate occasions having Grandpa push him on the swing.

One evening my brother decided to fly a kite. The first place we tried flying them in the field south of the house didn't work but as soon as we moved North of the house they took off. This was Kallen's first time flying a kite. Here he is with Uncle Mike and Grandpa flying a kite. To this day, 3 weeks after our trip he still talks about flying the butterfly kite.

Here is Kallen giving Sadie some love. She is a few years older than Hobie and not used to having someone laying all over her. She did really well though and even let him sit and lay on her. She must be getting used to him too.

Random Pictures from our trip.
Sitting on a turtle at the local park.

Picking strawberries and raspberries from the garden. This was a daily event.
Helping grandma water all the plants and flowers.
Who needs the zoo to get a picture of a boy sitting on a tractor. At least at home he doesn't have to share with other kids.

A few more things Kallen enjoyed doing while visiting Grandma and Grandpa that we didn't get pictures of; feeding apples to the cows, walking down the lane to throw rocks in the creek, gathering eggs from the chicken house and eating smores over the fire pit.

Summer 2010

We attended a "Members Stay Late Night" at the zoo. It was pretty cool, not very busy, almost like having the zoo to ourselves. Kallen chose the zebra and I had to sit next to him on another animal. Hard to believe he used to be afraid of the carousel.
Coldstone Creamery ice cream on the 4th of July! The one closest to our house is open on Sundays! Kallen pretty much finished off the "like it" size. A kid after his mother's heart!
Hobie after his shower. You tell him it is time to take a shower and he walks upstairs and hops in the tub. Sometimes it is easier to get Hobie to take a bath than it is Kallen.

Putting together his soccer goal.
On the way home after an evening in the park with Debbie! His favorite thing in the park was to chase the little ball and run away from Debbie. I just got to watch while Debbie got the workout!

Giving Hobie some love :)

At the aquarium. No stitches this time. Another sign Kallen is growing, a few times ago at the aquarium he was afraid to sit on the frog, not anymore.
SUPERMAN!
Another day in the park. We got a pizza to go, ate it in the park and then played a little soccer.

We have some ducks that hang out in our neighborhood even though there is no water around anywhere. We made the mistake of feeding them and they came around for a few days in a row. Kallen thought it was pretty neat to feed them. Luckily after those few days they never came back.

Weekend In Boise and Stitches

Over Memorial Day Weekend while at the aquarium (for 5 minutes) Kallen tripped over the rock at the first exhibit and face planted into the rock bench. It resulted in 2 stitches under the chin. I am sure this is the first of many trips to get stitches.

Look at the soccer skills. For a 2-year old I am very impressed. Can't wait to get him signed up for soccer. The earliest I have found is 3 years old!

We met Grandma and Grandpa in Boise to exchange some goods. It was a quick weekend but a fun one. We went to the Farmers Market and did some bead and antique shopping and then got to see Erin compete in her Roller Derby Bout. Kallen fell asleep at the Bout but it was way past his bed time.
